Free skin cancer screenings to be offered

HOUSTON Experts say it's more important than ever to take precautions to protect yourself against the sun. Getting people to do just that, is the goal behind the free skin cancer screening tour, which is coming to Houston.

For the third year in a row, The Skin Cancer Foundation's Road to Healthy Skin Tour will be stopping by the Houston area in the Tour's 38-foot customized RV to offer free full-body skin cancer screenings to the public.

Local dermatologists are donating their time to offer the free screenings. Here are the locations and times they are giving the free screenings.

  • Wednesday, July 28th, 12pm -- 4pm, Academy Sports #19, 2404 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77098
  • Thursday, July 29th, 10am -- 4pm, Randalls Food and Drugs, 3131 West Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77025
  • Friday, July 30th, 10am -- 12pm, Academy Sports #32, 21351 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598
  • This tour will make more than 80 stops across the country to educate people about the importance of sun protection on a daily basis and visiting their dermatologists annually to get a skin cancer screening.
