One dead, two wounded in apparent love triangle shooting
HOUSTON
Police were called out to a home on River Bluff at Wood River around 1:00am Thursday morning in far southwest Houston. The shots rang out here in what police are describing as a disturbance.
The argument involved several people, including a husband, his wife and her alleged boyfriend. As the disturbance escalated, at least three shots were fired, and all three people were shot.
Police say the incident started when the husband followed his wife to the home. As the wife met another man, who police say is her boyfriend, the husband got his weapon and shot the boyfriend. At the same time, the boyfriend pulled his weapon and shot the husband. The wife was caught in the crossfire and shot in the arm.
The husband died at the scene next to a Corvette riddled with bullet holes. The wife and the alleged boyfriend were transported to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment. The man is listed in serious condition, while the wife is in stable condition.
Authorities are trying to determine who fired first.
"We can't really tell right now. We haven't been able to talk to the man at the hospital. He went into surgery right away and is still sedated," said Sgt. Kevin Tolls of the Houston Police Department.
The homeowner is a relative of the boyfriend, authorities say, and the home was used for their rendezvous.
The name of the deceased man has not yet been released.
