Man arrested after stabbing woman, carjacking taxi

HOUSTON According to police, the cabbie was called to a motel in the 10400 block of Bissonnet to pick up a fare around 1pm Thursday. While he was waiting, a man carjacked his taxi and took off. The cabbie ran to a nearby off-duty police officer who gave chase. The suspect got into a wreck about 10 minutes later and was arrested.

Police say, prior to the carjacking, the suspect got into an argument with a woman at the motel and stabbed her. The woman was taken to a hospital, but is expected to recover.
