Burglars strike sheriff's office patrol car

HOUSTON

The deputy had parked his patrol car in the 15000 block of the North Freeway around 1:15pm Wednesday, and walked inside a restaurant to eat lunch, according to a Crime Stoppers statement. When he walked back to the car, he noticed it had been burglarized, and several things, including several pieces of law enforcement equipment, were missing.

Earlier, a security guard had spotted two suspects trying to break into another vehicle, and he ordered them to leave. Detectives believe those two suspects are responsible in the car burglary.

The suspects are described only as two black males in their mid 20's. They were driving a late model red Chevy Monte Carlo.

Anyone with information regarding their identities is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
