Residents seeking shelter from the frigid temperatures can head to their local library. The Harris County Public Library is offering up their 25 locations as warming centers for people caught out in the cold. "We served as cooling centers in the summer and now we're hoping to help out by serving as warming centers for the next couple of days," said Rhoda Goldberg, Harris County Public Library Director. "We want to let residents know that they are more than welcome to come in and get warm."

Goldberg added that even if people are just stopping by, she encourages them to check out any of their programs and library materials.

The libraries will open at 9am this Friday and Saturday. Closing hours will vary depending on the branch.

For hours, locations and more information go to Harris County Public Library.
