Man turns over live grenade to San Antonio police

SAN ANTONIO, TX The man had found the grenades in his late father's house about 10 years ago, but decided to bring them into a police substation early Wednesday because he was concerned about them being a danger to his young son.

He left them in a box in his car and told officers, who called in the bomb squad. Police determined two of the grenades were just training devices

Sgt. Michael Oliva said: "We looked at him like, 'What?' Bringing grenades to the sub is pretty unusual."

Oliva said the man was right to have notified police of the devices, but should have left them at home.
