TX orders nearly 7.25 million swine flu doses

AUSTIN, TX The Texas Department of State Health Services on Friday said about 7.24 million doses have been ordered. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has allocated about 7.6 million doses to Texas.

Commissioner Dr. David Lakey says there is "the potential for another wave of illness" and people should get vaccinated.

More orders and shipments will follow as providers confirm their orders with DSHS.

The agency says Texas expects to receive nearly 13 million doses of the vaccine by January.
