Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Johnny Hernandez tells The Monitor of McAllen that a state trooper stopped Hinojosa around 1 a.m. Sunday in San Juan.
The 43-year-old daughter of U.S. Rep. Ruben Hinojosa was booked and released from the Hidalgo County Jail later Sunday after she refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
Laura Hinojosa had recently started her campaign for a second term.
