Agents visiting local post offices in the Rio Grande Valley found numerous individuals mailing "drug-laden boxes," prosecutors said in a prepared statement. Those arrested were from several cities in south Texas as well as California and Mexico.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas
said the arrests were the result of an investigation by the U.S.
Postal Inspection Service and the Hidalgo County High Intensity
Drug Trafficking Area Task Force.
