People who live in parts of Galveston County are being asked to cut back on their water usage after a major waterline collapsed. The Gulf Coast Water Authority is asking people who live in Kemah, Clear Lake Shores, Dickinson, San Leon, Bayview and Bacliff to conserve water while they work to repair the pipeline. It's expected to take about a week to fix the problem.

The utility district is also asking that people who live in the affected areas not drip their faucets to prevent freezing.
