Judge orders bomb plot suspect's brother held

DALLAS, TX A federal judge in Dallas has granted a request to stat Husein Smadi's deportation. On Friday, she also ordered the 18-year-old to remain in federal custody until Oct. 27 to be questioned under oath by attorneys for his brother, Hosam Smadi.

Husein Smadi told an San Francisco immigration judge earlier this month that he wanted to rejoin his father in Jordan.

The Smadi brothers entered the United States legally on tourist visas in 2007 but overstayed their visas.

Hosam Smadi moved to a small town near Dallas last year while his brother remained in northern California. Hosam Smadi is accused of planting what he believed to be a car bomb beneath a Dallas skyscraper last month.
