Police say 52-year-old Sean Stark was shot in the abdomen Aug. 17 at an apartment complex where Orr also lived.
Prosecutors say Stark told police that Orr shot him after he and Orr got into an argument over the barking of Orr's dog.
The 24-year-old Orr pleaded not guilty to the aggravated assault charge, as well as to charges of possessing drugs for distribution and tampering with evidence.
District Judge Susan Watters maintained Orr's bond at $250,000 and he remains in jail.
