Accused store clerk killer appears in court

HOUSTON Dontreal Brown, 18, appeared calm during his overnight probable cause hearing. He is charged with capital murder for the deadly shooting at the Siesta Food Mart on Aldine Bender a week ago tonight.

Surveillance video showed three men dressed in black storming into the convenience store where Joe Fernandes was about two hours into his very first night on the job. Detectives believe one of the robbers shot and killed him in frustration after he wasn't able to hand over money quickly enough.

Investigators say after that surveillance video first aired on Eyewitness News, they received a tip that lead them to Brown.

Detectives have identified two other suspects -- Vondra Joseph and Neiman Nelson. Those two are believed to be in the Houston area. The fourth person involved has not been identified.

If you have any information in this case, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. You don't have to give your name and could earn a cash reward.

Fernandes will be remembered during a visitation and vigil tomorrow night at Earthman Southwest Chapel in Stafford. His burial will be Wednesday morning at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land.
