Two vans stolen from community group

HOUSTON On June 8, LINC (Lutheran Inter-city Network Coalition) Houston reported a stolen van from their location at 161 West Road. That van was on loan to the group from CORE Alliance. It was being used for the hauling of tools in Ike relief work around the city of Houston. The van has not yet been recovered.

This morning the discovery was made that the remaining van, one owned by LINC Houston, was stolen. The van was used to transport volunteers around the city to repair Ike damaged homes. The van was last seen at the West Road location on Saturday. The license plate number is DDF-147. The van is white in color and is a 2000 Ford Econoline E350 model.

There are no suspects at this time. Both vans had only liability insurance. LINC Houston, which describes itself as an organization whose sole purpose is to help the underserved ethnic groups and communities in our city, considers the loss of these vans a 'devastating blow.'
