The driver was arrested and faces DWI charges, as well as charrges for fleeing the scene of a wreck.
According a new statistic, Harris County has more alcohol-related traffic accidents than any other county in the U.S.
Local authorities say one of the ways they are trying to prevent these types of accidents is by asking people to plan on having a designated driver when they go out drinking. They also say they are stepping up enforcements.
The good news is there has been a decline of the number of cases over the last several years.
