Dad won't stand trial in kids' killings

PASADENA, TX Randy Sylvester's seven-year-old son Randy, Jr., and three-year-old daughter Denim were reported missing in June of last year. Their charred remains were found nearly a week later in a wooden chest and suitcase left in a wooded area.

The Harris County district attorney's office says a defendant found incompetent to stand trial is held in a state mental hospital and treated until he is judged competent to face the charges. Sylvester is due back in court in October.
