Two alarm fire damages apartments

HOUSTON The two alarm fire started around 7am on the third floor of the complex on South Drive at Brooklet. Firefighters battled flames from the outside. They managed to knock the fire down in about an hour, despite the difficulty of fighting a fire on the third floor.

One complex resident was so unconcerned he decided to get ready for work rather than evacuating his apartment.

Ena Bulele said, "Well, I took my car out of this part, then I went in and took my shower and I go to work."

"They were big flames," recalled resident Jasmine Tudor. "I mean, I don't know what flames are supposed to look like, but they were big enough for me to be concerned about them."

The damage was contained to one building which suffered fire, smoke, and water damage. There are no reports of any injuries.
