It happened last night on West Tidwell near Lumberdale. Police believe a man drove up near a store to allegedly buy some drugs. Something happened and gunfire was exchanged.
The shooting victim sped away, crashed into the back of a pickup truck and later died.
"It looks like there were gunshots from different directions and possibly different caliber firearms," said Sergeant Robert Torres with the Houston Police Department homicide division.
The shooter remains on the run.
