The Galveston Island Beach Patrol is looking to hire at least 30 more lifeguards to work the busy summer season. They are holding final tryouts on Saturday, May 9, at 7am in the UTMB Field house. It's located at 215 Holiday Drive, Galveston, TX 77555.
Candidates are required to swim 500 meters in under 9 minutes and will be interviewed. Those who are elected can expect to begin training the same day, May 9.
