Police tell Eyewitness News that the victims had just left a night club sometime after 3am when they stopped to get some gas on the west side of town. While at the gas station at Corporate and Beechnut, they encountered the suspects. The four victims invited the men back to their apartment.

Authorities say the suspects pulled a gun and demanded cash. One of the victims reportedly told the men if they wouldn't kill them, he would take them to go get money.

They drove to the Braeburn Colony apartments on the Southwest Freeway near South Gessner. One of the victims was allowed to enter the apartment where he told the woman who lived there what was happening and police were called.

While the victim was inside, the suspects fled with the other victims still in the car. Police say at a location near Ocee and Westpark, it's believed that one of the victims may have been sexually assaulted. Although two of the victims are transgendered, police don't believe that is why they were targeted.

"One of the suspects told one of the victims that this is just what they do, that they target people for money,'" said Sgt. Julia Oliver with the Houston Police Department. "So at this time that is what it appears to be, an attempt for aggravated robbery that turned into another situation."

All of the victims were eventually let go. Police are investigating the claim that one of the victims was sexually assaulted.

The suspects fled the scene in a white Dodge Charger. Authorities say they don't have a good description of the suspects.
