Local doctor's conviction reversed

An appeals court has reversed the conviction of a local doctor sent to prison for injecting patients with fake Botox. [SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

The fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the judge in the trial of Dr. Gayle Rothenberg allowed prosecutors to use misleading, confusing and prejudicial evidence against Rothenberg. Her first trial ended in a hung jury and Rothenberg could face trial a third time.

Rothenberg's attorney is also ABC=13's legal analyst, Joel Androphy.
