A tip call to the district attorney's office led Precinct 6 constables and the Humane Society to the pit bulls. The dogs range in age from about four months to about four years old. Many of them had bite marks and other signs that they had been involved in dog fighting.
"The majority of them had really bad scars on them, really bad battle scars on the legs and on the face," said Sgt. Patrick Leone with the Harris County Precinct 6 Constable's Office. "It was obvious they'd been fighting. We also found a treadmill that's part of the training process."
Officers say most of the dogs badly needed medical attention.
