Coast Guard Air Station Houston launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew to search for the jet-skier. The boater who spotted the jet-skier assisted the Coast Guard by helping to direct the rescue helicopter crew to the man's location.
At 6:30 p.m. the rescue helicopter crew located the stranded jet-skier, hoisted him and transported him to Station Galveston. There he was meet by local EMS, and treated for mild hypothermia and exposure.
"Not many boats transit Jones Lake during the week," said Gene Davis, a Search and Rescue Specialist at Sector Houston-Galveston. "He was lucky to be spotted and rescued in such a short amount of time."
The jet-skier was reported to be in good condition, and was wearing a life jacket at the time of rescue.
