HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Amazon or Walmart? Which is better? We break down the clash of the retail titans in a Stretch Your Dollar match-up.
Consumers just want to know where they can find the best deal and save the most money.
In a round-by-round battle, here's how each company fared:
Price matching: Walmart is the clear winner here because Amazon does not price match. Walmart.com will price match the price of select online retailers.
Shipping: This one's a toss up. Amazon offers free two-day shipping to Prime members but that comes with a $99 a year fee. Walmart offers free shipping on orders over $35.
Those little 'extras': Amazon wins this round with a number of extra services like unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows, and more.
Lowest prices: It depends on the item. Amazon is overrun by third-party sellers. Walmart has "everyday low prices" that last a long period of time.
In the end, it's a split decision.
And for those of you who are Amazon Prime members but aren't using the service to its fullest potential, check this out. We have a list of the five items that come with your membership that you might not even know about. This includes a way you can share your account!
