Tony Atkins
Tony Atkins is an Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award winning journalist who joined the ABC13 News team in March of 2026. He comes to Houston with on-air experience in Orlando, FL, Milwaukee, WI, and Memphis, TN.

Tony is a Milwaukee native, with a Journalism and Media Studies degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His journalism career began in print right here in Texas at the Austin American-Statesman. Then he took his talents to digital at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, PA.

He takes pride in amassing a news resume spanning many regions and experiences.

Throughout his career, Tony has been on the frontlines of many major events, including major hurricanes, the Artemis space program, presidential campaigns, the 2020 elections and being on-scene during the protesting the night of the Kyle Rittenhouse shooting in 2020.

Despite all the travels, Tony is a Milwaukee native and an unabashed Wisconsin Sports Fan (except for the San Antonio Spurs and, naturally, a growing love for Houston sports.)

On his free time, Tony enjoys riding his bike along Houston's many trails, exploring wildlife and checking out what Southeast Texas has to offer.
