9/11 Reporter's Notebook with Melanie Lawson, Art Rascon and Tom Abrahams

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) -- Eyewitness News anchors Art Rascon and Tom Abrahams were some of the first Texas journalists to report live from New York City and Washington D.C. respectively on the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Shortly after all air traffic was grounded, each drove with a photographer for the cross country journey.

Today, the two discuss with Live at Five anchor Melanie Lawson what they saw over the next three weeks and the difficulties they faced.

Both reveal how emotional it was to leave their young families to cover a story of this magnitude. To them 9/11 seems like yesterday and a long time ago all at once.
