Officials are asking for the public's help to find a man witnesses say placed several Molotov cocktails in a median in southwest Harris County, lighting one of them.

It happened shortly before noon on Saturday near the intersection of Sugarland Howell and Bissonnet. When fire crews arrive, they found the Molotov cocktails in the median.

"Witnesses at the scene told arson investigators that an Asian male appearing to be in his 40s went to the Valero gas station and filled several bottles with gasoline and ignited one then walked off," said Lt. Dean Hensley with the Harris County Fire Marshal Office.

Investigators searched the area, but couldn't find the man. A witness told investigators the man walked into the Kingspoint Subdivision around the 14000 block of Bissonnet wearing a yellow shirt and camo shorts.

There was no damage to any property and the exact motive is unclear.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office at 281-436-8008 or Crime-Stoppers 713-222-TIPS.
