The Galveston County Sheriff's Office is investigating after two bodies were found in Port Bolivar Friday morning.

Deputies were called out to the 700 block of State Highway 87 at around 7:45am after a beer salesman found the bodies of two African-American women near a dumpster.

"He went outside the building to throw away the boxes. When he did he found the bodies, he thought they were mannequins at first," said Brett Brannen, another beer sales.

Detectives believe the two victims were killed somewhere else and their bodies left where they were discovered.

The victims have been identified as Houston residents Britney Cosby and Crystal Jackson, both 24.

"That's just like my daughter. She was just like my daughter," neighbor James Randle said.

Randle says he's known Cosby since she was a child, and she lived several doors down with her girlfriend, Jackson.

"That was her girlfriend, that was her soulmate," he said.

Detectives say neither woman appears to have been sexually assaulted. They say they were each killed in different ways, but apparently by the same person or group of people. Neither woman, they say, was tortured before being killed.

Detectives now need help in locating the victim's stolen vehicle, a silver 2006 Kia Sorento with paper tags.

Meanwhile, those who live nearby say they'll be taking precautions from now on.

"Lock the doors and load the guns, folks. That's all I can tell you," nearby resident Rick Talley said.

Anyone with information about the murders or the stolen vehicle is asked to call the Galveston County Sheriff's Office tip line at 866-248-8477.
