Several families head to court to fight property value increase in Fort Bend County

African American homeowners from Fulshear are headed to court today.

They claim Fort Bend County has been raising their property values faster than it raises values on land owned by white families. Some African American families say they could be forced off land that has been in their families for generations.

A court hearing will be held this afternoon. Many families say their property valuations have quintupled or more since 2007.
