UH sends out alert after student reports she was robbed

The University of Houston sent out an alert Thursday, after a student reported that she was robbed on campus Wednesday night.

According to the alert, the student said she was walking from the campus Recreation and Wellness Center to her vehicle in lot 2A at around 11:45pm when she was approached from behind by a suspect.

The student said the suspect grabbed her purse and while she struggled with him, its contents spilled out. That's when she says the suspect grabbed her walled and ran off towards Calhoun.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 30 years old. He stands approximately 5 feet, 9 inches and weighs between 155 and 175 pounds. He was wearing a grey T-shirt and black pants.
