Coast Guard rescues one boater, searching for four others in Gulf of Mexico

HOUSTON

The call about the ship came in at around 3:30am about the vessel, which went down about 115 miles southeast of Galveston. An air crew flew from Corpus Christi and was able to spot a man in an orange life raft.

A Dolphin rescue helicopter was launched from Houston and was able to hoist the man to safety. Crews took him to a nearby oil rig to be checked out medically.

The man told the Coast Guard there were four other people on board before it sank. The search for those crewmembers continues.
