Reward offered to help find fugitive murder suspect

HOUSTON

On February 19, the Harris County Sheriff's Office was called to a home in the 13200 block of Benford Drive in the southwest part of the county. Witnesses say three men, one of whom police say is Rashad Tate, entered the home at around 4:30pm.

Then, within an hour, the suspects reportedly fled through the back yard, leaving the front door locked.

Authorities were contacted after witnesses observed blood stains throughout the house by peering through the home's windows. Deputies forced their way in, where they found 34-year-old Carlos Jones Martin stabbed to death.

Through an investigation, police say they were able to identify Tate, who is not in custody, and he was charged with murder.

Tate is described as an African American male, standing around 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing around 125 pounds.

Anyone with information about the location of the fugitive is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-22-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the arrest of the fugitive in this case.
