It happened around 9:55pm on February 22 at a dollar store in the 2600 block of the Eldridge Parkway, according to Crime Stoppers.
The suspect was speaking on his phone during checkout but hung up as soon as he reached the front of the store and tried to lock the door. When he couldn't, he pulled out a pistol and ordered an employee to lock the doors then empty the store's safe. She and another employee were led to the back room, where they emptied the safe and gave it to the robber.
The suspect fled the store through the back emergency exit with an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a black male, between 45 and 55 years old, with a piercing in his left year. He is approximately 6 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 270 pounds and has short hair.
At the time of the offense the suspect wore a black baseball cap, dark sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
