Kids compete in ACHIEVE Houston triathlon

HOUSTON

The triathlon was held at the Stella Link YMCA.

Officials said 34 inner-city children ages 9-14 competed in a 100-meter swim, followed by a 5-K bike race and a 2-K run.

This was a first-ever competitive event for many of the children. They trained for six weeks at a free camp under Dr. Charles Moser, a local dentist and triathlete who organized the race.

ACHIEVE was founded in Washington D.C. in 2007 and came to Houston in 2008. For more information, visit achievekidstri.org.
