Houston billionaire hedge fund trader John Arnold is reportedly planning to retire at the age of 38.

Arnold is also shuttering his energy trading Centaurus fund, which usually delivers 130 percent compound annual returns. Arnold founded the fund in 2002 after leaving Enron.

Recently he has garnered publicity by joining in Warren Buffett's giving pledge, promising to give away 75 percent of his roughly $3 billion fortune.
