The roadway closures are necessary because crews will be demolishing the passenger walkway bridge connecting Terminal B to Flight Station 7.
Below is a list of the closures planned:
- Starting on Monday night, March 5, South Terminal Road will be closed at 10 p.m. The road will be reopened the next morning at 5 a.m.
- Similar late night closures of South Terminal Road will occur Tuesday, March 6; Wednesday, March 7; and Thursday, March 8. The traffic flow will resume normal operations at 5 a.m. on Friday, March 9.
- Terminal A upper level ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. During these closure periods traffic detours will be in place to allow access and egress to and from Terminal A and Terminal B.
Traffic guidance signs and public safety officials will be in place to assist safe and proper traffic flow. Terminal A and Terminal B will continue to be served by passenger departure and pick-up areas, parking lot and rental car area shuttles, and taxi/limousine service.
Access to the Terminals A/B parking garage will be open to the public during this demolition.
The roadway closure is necessary to maintain public safety during the demolition of the passenger walkway bridge connecting Terminal B to Flight Station 7.
The improvements to the Terminal B facility represent a joint venture between Houston Airports and United Airlines.
