Heading to IAH's Terminal A this week? Expect delays

HOUSTON

The roadway closures are necessary because crews will be demolishing the passenger walkway bridge connecting Terminal B to Flight Station 7.

Below is a list of the closures planned:

  • Starting on Monday night, March 5, South Terminal Road will be closed at 10 p.m. The road will be reopened the next morning at 5 a.m.
  • Similar late night closures of South Terminal Road will occur Tuesday, March 6; Wednesday, March 7; and Thursday, March 8. The traffic flow will resume normal operations at 5 a.m. on Friday, March 9.
  • Terminal A upper level ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. During these closure periods traffic detours will be in place to allow access and egress to and from Terminal A and Terminal B.
Airport officials suggest everyone should allow for an extra 30 minutes while heading to Terminal A.

Traffic guidance signs and public safety officials will be in place to assist safe and proper traffic flow. Terminal A and Terminal B will continue to be served by passenger departure and pick-up areas, parking lot and rental car area shuttles, and taxi/limousine service.

Access to the Terminals A/B parking garage will be open to the public during this demolition.

The roadway closure is necessary to maintain public safety during the demolition of the passenger walkway bridge connecting Terminal B to Flight Station 7.

The improvements to the Terminal B facility represent a joint venture between Houston Airports and United Airlines.
