Teen charged over false fire alarm at Pasadena High School

PASADENA, TX

Just after 1pm on February 10, firefighters with the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department were called to Pasadena High School after the fire alarm was pulled. The entire school -- approximately 2,500 students and staff -- was evacuated and three fire stations responded to the alarm.

School officials reviewed the campus security cameras and spotted a student by the pull station for the fire alarm just before it went off.

Alan Antonio Garzota, 17, was questioned by the school's assistant principals. According to court documents, he admitted pulling the fire alarm on a dare from a friend.

Garzota has been charged with making a false alarm or report. Bail has been set at $2,000.
