The crash near the North Park Plaza in Kingwood had Highway 59 shut down for hours. Investigators say an 18-year-old pickup driver ran into the back of a flat-bed truck that was slowing down due to a flat tire. There was almost nothing left of his truck.
It's not clear why that 18-year-old failed to brake. He later died at LBJ Hospital. The driver of the flat-bed truck was not hurt.
This wreck has since cleared.
