HOUSTON

Neighbors watched the home burn, saying they were unable to save her. It happened on Walters Road near FM 1960 in northwest Harris County.

Investigators aren't releasing the name of the victim, but say she was about 50 years old. The fire marshal's office tells us that a neighbor tried to help the woman, but the flames were just too intense.

"One of the investigators did talk to some of the neighbors," said Lt. Dean Hensley with the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office. "There was an attempt made to rescue the person inside, but it was just too smokey and too hot."
