Police say it happened around 11:15pm when the driver of an SUV lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a guardrail on the Loop near the North Freeway. The driver of the 18-wheeler tried to avoid the accident, but ended up crashing into a guardrail as well. The big rig driver was not hurt, but the driver of the SUV ended up in the hospital.
Traffic on the North Loop was shut down for a couple hours, but has since reopened.
