Thief posing as city utility worker in Galveston

GALVESTON, TX

The thief has been active in multiple island neighborhoods.

On Sunday, officials said a man entered a home claiming to be working on a water pipe. The man ended up stealing a purse from the resident.

The city of Galveston is alerting the public to be wary of anyone who approaches them to gain access to their home.

Legitimate city of Galveston workers do not enter private residences. They always carry official identification, wear official uniforms and travel in marked city vehicles.
