Woman gets 18 years for robbery in cabbie's death

DENTON, TX

Jurors in Denton on Tuesday decided the penalty for Mariesha Ohlfs of Argyle.

Ohlfs was convicted Monday of aggravated robbery in a 2009 holdup that led to the death of Hooshang Vatanpour, who picked up two men near a Dallas bus station. Vatanpour's stabbed and burned body was found in rural Denton County.

Investigators say Ohlfs dropped off her boyfriend Noah Whitehead and William Kirk "Billy" Stephens at the taxi stand, bought a container of gasoline used to burn the body and later retrieved the men.

Whitehead and Stephens were convicted of capital murder and are serving life in prison.
