Man in court for accident where he drove with body

HOUSTON Police say James Onak drove for several miles after the victim had crashed through the windshield and landed next to him in the passenger's seat. He's scheduled to make his first appearance in a Houston courtroom on Friday.

The 49-year-old Onak is charged with felony failure to stop and render aid in a fatality and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

Police say 32-year-old Fadel Steadman died in the accident while crossing Interstate 45 in southeast Houston early Tuesday after his vehicle broke down.
