HOUSTON --Fire broke out at a home business in northeast Houston last night. The flames broke out at a home on Magee and Chaplin at around 10:30pm. The Westfield, Aldine and West Little York Fire departments all responded, but were not able to save the home.
The owner has a pallet business which he runs from his house. It, too, is a total loss. The family of five had just gotten back from church when they smelled smoke. After a failed attempt to put out the flames, everyone got out safely. Then, all they could do was watch as firefighters doused the flames that gutted their home. "At the end of the day, its just material things; our lives are more important," said Peter Alvarado.
The Harris County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
