Trial delayed for accused Acres Homes serial rapist

HOUSTON

LaMarques Devon McWilliams is charged with the murder of Pamela Goss, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and two counts of aggravated sexual assault. Trial was stopped Tuesday morning because a witness for the prosecution was missing.

McWilliams was arrested in 2009. A sexual assault victim picked him out of a lineup. DNA evidence linked him to the death of Goss and the rape of a 13-year-old girl in 1996.

Prosecutors realized one witness wasn't there this morning before they made opening statements, so the judge excused the jury.

The witness was found later Tuesday and a new jury will be picked tomorrow.
