HOUSTON --A man is accused of sexually assaulting his granddaughter while babysitting her when she was a young girl. Frank Robert Burdett, 76, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. According to court documents, Burdett is the paternal grandfather of the victim. He is accused of sexually assaulting the victim on numerous occasions from August 1999 to October 1999 while babysitting her when she was 11 and 12 years old while living in the Cypress area. The victim, now 23 years old, claims that Burdett was babysitting her and her brothers while her parents were not home and that he sexually assaulted her two different times in the kitchen while her brothers were upstairs. The victim claims Burdett sexually assaulted her in her parents bedroom on another occasion. Court documents state that when recently interviewed by authorities, Burdett said his granddaughter, "has an 'artificial memory' and she probably 'picked up' the sexual abuse idea when she was in therapy for 'overdosing.'" Burdett's bond is set at $30,000.
