Murder charges have been filed in the case of a woman found dead in her northeast Houston home last year. Investigators say Jessy Lee Zachary, 31, is charged with capital murder for his role in the killing of Joyce Cleveland, 78. Cleveland was found dead in her home in the 7000 block of Willowtex shortly after midnight on June 14.

According to Houston police, neighbors were woken up by barking dogs and noticed two males enter Cleveland's home through the front door. Another neighbor went to check on Cleveland and when no one answered, called police.

Cleveland suffered cuts and blunt trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

After an investigation, Zachary was identified as a suspect, say police. He is currently in custody on an unrelated robbery charge.
