Suspect wanted in fatal stabbing in southeast Houston

HOUSTON

Angel F. Cantu, 19, is charged with murder. Police say Houston police officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 6700 block of Fairway about 3:10am Sunday where they discovered the victim had been stabbed several times.

Further investigation led to the arrest of two juvenile males who are charged with stealing the victim's pickup truck. Those juveniles told police they were with Cantu inside his apartment, along with the victim, when Cantu and the victim began arguing about money the victim owed Cantu.

Cantu began beating the victim, and at some point, the victim attempted to jump out of the apartment through a closed window. Cantu stopped the victim from fleeing and stabbed him several times with a knife, killing him.

The 28-year-old male victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Angel Cantu is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
