HOUSTON --Police have charged a local pro basketball player in connection with a suspected drunk driving crash. Jason Deran McCoy faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter for the death of Deylan Braxton. Police say early Saturday morning, McCoy was driving his BMW east of downtown with Braxton and two other passengers. The BMW hit another car then a tree, a brick building and a telephone pole. Doctors pronounced Braxton dead at the hospital. McCoy played basketball at Milby High School and pro ball overseas.
