Officials: Shampoo thieves stuff bottles down pants

HOUSTON They're always on the lookout for bank robbers, carjackers and even a burglar stealing cigarettes from drug stores; but now, Harris County officials are searching for thieves targeting a different kind of goods: hair products.

Harris County deputies say they're trying to identify two men who stole professional salon shampoo and conditioners from a northwest Houston grocery store.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 11 at a grocery store on Clay Road. Two men walked into and headed to the Health and Beauty aisle, put the bottles of shampoo and condition in their pants and walked out of the store.

Detectives later determined the same suspects were in the same store a month earlier stealing the same products.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males. One suspect is in his early to mid 20's. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds. The second suspect is in his early to mid 30's and is around 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 195 pound.

Anyone with information regarding their identities is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
